Rae-Edzo (Behchokö)

The community of Behchokö is located on the shores of Marion Lake, close to the north arm of Great Slave Lake. Behchokö is 107 kilometres northwest of Yellowknife on the Mackenzie Highway, and is comprised of two communities, Rae and Edzo. The Tłı̨chǫ have lived in this area for thousands of years and have passed on their traditional knowledge and language to the present-day Tłı̨chǫ people. Today, Behchokö has a combined population of about 2300 and is the largest community in the Tłı̨chǫ region.
